How to increase your businesses social media conversions in 2020

How to increase your businesses social media conversions in 2020: Part 2

In the first part of this blog, we concentrated on the reasons why social media should be part of your business’ marketing strategy. In this second instalment, we – the team at Air Social Digital Marketing Agency – will give you some tips on how to use social media and improve your conversion rates.

Choose the right platform

Different social media platforms work better for different people/businesses. There’s no point spending time and money on a social media channel where you are not seeing any conversions or engagement. The one/s that’s right for you will very much depend on who your target audience is but there are general guidelines to get you started. For example, Facebook and Instagram are good for photo and video, Twitter and LinkedIn are good for posting news and jobs vacancies.

Optimize your social media landing pages

Getting your social media landing pages right can cause a significant increase in the number of leads that you convert. There are lots of different types of landing pages, from click throughs to lead generating pages. Different ones will work for different businesses but whichever you go for, it’s important to set out your objectives first. Will your landing page be created solely for generating traffic? Would it be for capturing leads? Would it be tied to a social media campaign? It’s then a good idea to test it, to ensure it meets these objectives.

Use video-centric posts and ads to boost conversions

According to research, video still dominates users’ attention spans on social media. It makes sense, seeing as the brain can process videos 60,000 times faster than text.  Take advantage of that information and make video a key part of your social media marketing strategy. Just make sure you keep the clips short and snappy as humans have an attention span shorter than goldfish!

Harness the power of User Generated Content

From written reviews to photos and videos, UGC is a really efficient and effective way of increasing conversions. Not only does UGC improve the authenticity of your brand, it doesn’t cost you anything to use and share it (just make sure you ask permission beforehand). It’s a win-win.

Competitions and promotions

Running a social media contest is a great way of growing your follower base, increasing brand awareness, expanding your database and kick-starting conversation and engagement with your customers. People are much more likely to input their email address or like or follow you if they have an incentive such as winning something or getting money off a product or service.

Customise content

You don’t need us to tell you that understanding your target market is one of the first steps of running a good business. Creating content that suits that target market is the next step.

Most of the major social media platforms provide insights on who your audience is. You can use these analytics to quickly have an overview of your most active users and the content they engage most with.

Analyse and track

Analysing and tracking your social media conversion rates enables you to see what things are working for you and what you need to improve. By using a tool like Google Analytics to monitor your social media conversions, you will be able to examine results against your objectives to establish if you’re on the right track or not.
